I spend a lot of time with dead people…

I spend most of my time seeing the world through 20th-century glasses, with the occasional dip into the Victorian or earlier eras if the opportunity or inspiration arises. I ‘specialise’ in three particular events that took place in the first 23 years of the 20th century and that’s what most of this blog will consist of, along with how these events can be seen and understood in and through literature and film. Expect little contemporary content, bar the occasional book or film/tv review. This is a space for people and the past, I am trying to keep them, and it, alive.
